This course will cover the basic rules of Bible
interpretation by stressing a pattern of explaining the rule,
illustrating the principle, and allowing the student to practice
interpretation. In essence,
you will learn the art and science of biblical interpretation by viewing
the Scriptures through the lens of context, genre and literary styles.

C h r i s t
This course systematically presents the person of Jesus Christ in His
past, present, and future work. Divergent historical and contemporary
views are given, but the student is supplied with ample Scripture to
refute unbiblical views. The student is introduced to typology and is
given the opportunity to see the abundant revelation of Christ in the
Old Testament. A thorough treatment is given to the fulfillment of
prophecy as it relates to Christ both in the past and the future.

The student will develop an
understanding of the historical development of Paul’s ministry prior to
writing the Prison Epistles by being able to interpret each Prison
Epistle textually and contextually.
It will equip the student to acquire a basic working knowledge of
biblical resource material pertaining to Prison Epistles and to
recognize major themes in all the Prison Epistles

The
student will interpret the first five books of the Bible and its
involvement with the OT as a whole.
You will be able to identify the various literary forms and chronology.
You will be able to state the general content of each book.
You will know, analyze, and critique the current scholarly
positions on such critical matters as the authorship, date and unity of
the Pentateuch.
e s c h a t o l o g y
This course is an interpretive study of Old
Testament and New Testament Scriptures, which bear upon events of the
end times. It investigates the time
and order of these events and their importance and relation to
contemporary Christian life.
